Looking to try something different? You can track or skate ski, or snowshoe on nearly 40 kilometers of carefully groomed, scenic trails with state-of-the-art equipment. The new expanded Cross-Country, Telemark + Snowshoe Center features a sundeck and expanded teaching area. And if the scenery doesn’t make you stop and take it all in, maybe the warming huts, complete with hot chocolate and hot tea, and picnic tables along the way will. So grab your gear and make a day of it.

The relocated and expanded 1,400 square foot Cross-Country, Telemark + Snowshoe Center is easily accessible from the top of the Gondola. From the top of the Gondola, walk left towards Vista Express chair lift. Pass Vista Express loading area, walk up a short steep hill for approximately 30 yards to reach the Cross Country, Telemark and Snowshoe Center.

Spooner Lake Cross Country Ski Area offers fun for people of all ages and ability levels. Whether you want easy to moderate trails, or day long treks into the back country, or even an overnight in a wilderness cabin, Spooner has something for you. This is the closest major cross country area to South Lake Tahoe, 12 miles from the Stateline Casinos on the Nevada side of the lake.

We are one-half mile on Highway 28 from Highway 50 on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe near Spooner Summit.

The Resort at Squaw Creek offers a complete Nordic Center, conveniently located at the trailhead of the Cross Country Ski & Snowshoe trails at the Resort at Squaw Creek.

The Nordic Center offers about 18 kilometers (400 acres) of meticulously groomed trails that wind through the stunning Squaw Valley meadow and surrounding hillside. The trails are perfect for beginners and first timers, as well as more intermediate and advanced skiers and snowshoers. The trails are 70% beginner, 20% intermediate, and 10% advanced.

The Nordic Center also offers a variety of rental equipment including snowshoes and children’s sleds great for making the most of your snowy meadow adventure.
All trails originate at the Resort at Squaw Creek which is just a short, complimentary, shuttle ride from the Squaw Valley Parking Lot. Hop on the shuttle near the preferred parking area of the main lot.
